Project Library (Library in every village)
People often consider the library as a thing of the past. However, libraries now hold an importance more than ever. Libraries work as an institution that fosters the development of society. Regardless of their socioeconomic status, libraries offer knowledge and wisdom to everyone.
First, we need to understand what libraries are actually. Libraries are a source of knowledge that provides access to resources and information to all the members of the society. Libraries exist in both physical and digital forms. We often think that libraries are restricted to books but they also comprise magazines, newspapers, music albums, e-books, databases and more. Most public libraries generally provide extra services such as internet services and associated services such as printing service, faxing and scanning. Public libraries also have meeting spaces and playing areas for children so that the benefits of the library can be experienced by the members of the community.
Community libraries provide access to resources, knowledge and information to the members of society irrespective of their socioeconomic status. Libraries are of utmost importance when it comes to the overall development of the society.
Libraries offer information, knowledge and resources to everyone regardless of their socioeconomic status or location. This distinctive feature of libraries makes them an inseparable part of the society. On the other side, libraries offer an atmosphere for anyone to communicate and learn within the community. Libraries are one of those few places where no one would tell you to leave until it closes.
The Project Library is a CSR initiative by 1XL. We believe that every individual in society is important and everyone should have equal access to knowledge, information and relatable resources. Project Library by 1XL aims to establish libraries in every village in India so that no one lacks development and growth due to a lack of knowledge, information and appropriate resources.
At 1XL, we believe that everyone is entitled to receive adequate knowledge and education and lack of resources cannot be a hindrance. Therefore, this initiative of establishing libraries in every village has been launched. We are determined to complete this project either with the collaboration with our partners or completely on our own initiatives. As a part of our CSR initiatives, Project Library would establish libraries in the small villages of India and would equip all such establishments with the relevant resources.
